Today I finished chapter 1 and went on to chapter 2. It involved action and adventure. I am referring to my writing process, not the actual story.
Chapter 1 is a tense chapter due to the cliffhanger situation I mentioned in my previous post. In a way, action scenes can be very tricky things to manage. Not only do you want the scene to be coherent as an action sequence, but you want your action to have some sort of meaning beyond the literal events that transpire. A sort of symbolic meaning for everything. It's easy to get caught up in it, which is dangerous because it only leads to narrative that is difficult to read. It is a challenge to write complex beautiful prose, and I'll probably never be good enough to try it with confidence. Writing simple language isn't much easier, because in using less, the language has to be strong. I'm likely not very good at that either, but it's a skill I build as I go.
Chapter 2 is much more relaxing, being the 'next day' aftermath of the events that precede it. It's a breath of fresh air in many ways, but it is hardly the concluding sort of chapter. You can tell there is still an atmosphere of uncertainty as you sigh and think about what you have experienced so far. To make it an even more bitter variety of peace, you still have so many questions in your mind. This is a little bit of how Meeki feels during this chapter.

On an unrelated now, I promised some information about my pricing model. I have miserably failed just this once, but you will see the ultimate truth tomorrow. Really.
